Connect Zoom
Last updated
Connecting Zoom lets your Modules set up meetings, hand you the join link, and cancel meetings you no longer need. Everything runs through an app you create in your own Zoom account, so you stay in control of what it can do.
What your Modules can do
- List the meetings coming up on your Zoom account, with their join links.
- Create a meeting with a topic, a start time and a length, and give you the join link to share.
- Cancel a meeting. Zoom tells people who registered, so Raileon holds creating and cancelling meetings for your approval first.
Before you start
You need to be able to create apps in your Zoom account (an account owner or admin can). You also need the email address of the Zoom user who should host the meetings your Modules create.
Connect Zoom
Open Apps
In your dashboard, go to Apps in the left sidebar and select Connect on the Zoom card.
Create a Server-to-Server OAuth app
In the Zoom App Marketplace, choose Develop, then Build App, then Server-to-Server OAuth App. Name it, and copy the Account ID, Client ID and Client secret from its App Credentials page.
Add the meeting permissions
On the app's Scopes page, add the Meetings permissions to view, create and delete meetings (for example
meeting:read:adminandmeeting:write:admin). Then activate the app.Paste the details and test
Paste the three values and the host's email into Raileon, then select Test connection. Raileon signs in to Zoom and checks it can read meetings before saving.
Confirm it is connected
The Zoom card shows Connected.
Raileon never saves the short-lived sign-in token Zoom hands back. It asks for a fresh one when it needs it.
Disconnect Zoom
Open Apps, find the Zoom card, and select Disconnect. You can also deactivate the app in Zoom to cut off access right away.
