Connect Datadog

Last updated

Connecting Datadog lets your Modules tell you which monitors are alerting right now and what has happened recently. It is read only: a Module can't mute, edit or create anything in Datadog.

What your Modules can do

  • List the monitors that are alerting (or in warning), with when each last triggered.
  • List recent events, such as deploys and alerts, and search them by words.

Connect Datadog

  1. Find your site

Look at the address you sign in to Datadog at. For example app.datadoghq.com means the site is datadoghq.com. Raileon supports datadoghq.com, us3.datadoghq.com, us5.datadoghq.com, datadoghq.eu, ap1.datadoghq.com and ddog-gov.com.

  2. Create the keys

In Datadog, open Organization Settings. Under API Keys, create a key. Under Application Keys, create one and give it only the monitors_read and events_read permissions.

  3. Open Apps

In your dashboard, go to Apps and select Connect on the Datadog card.

  4. Paste and test

Enter your site and both keys, then select Test connection. Raileon checks the API key and reads one monitor before saving.

Disconnect Datadog

Open Apps, find the Datadog card, and select Disconnect. You can also delete the two keys in Datadog to cut off access right away.
