Connect Webhook

Last updated

Connecting a webhook lets your Modules send an event to a web address you own, such as a Make scenario, an n8n or Pipedream flow, or an IFTTT trigger. For Zapier, use the Zapier app instead.

What your Modules can do

  • Send one event, with an event name and a few simple fields, to your address.
  • Every send waits for your approval. The approval shows where it will go and the exact message, so you read it before it is sent.

Raileon only sends to public web addresses that start with https://. Addresses inside a private network, redirects and unusually slow or very large answers are refused. Raileon does not read anything back from the other end.

Connect a webhook

  1. Get the address

In Make, add a Custom webhook module and copy its address, which looks like https://hook.us1.make.com/abc123. Other tools show one on their webhook trigger.

  2. Open Apps

In your dashboard, go to Apps and select Connect on the Webhook card.

  3. Paste the address

Paste it and select Connect. Raileon checks the format only. It does not send a test message, because that would run your scenario.

Anyone who has the address can send to it, so keep it private. Raileon stores it encrypted and never shows it again.

Disconnect a webhook

Open Apps, find the Webhook card, and select Disconnect.
