Connect Dialpad
Last updated
Connecting Dialpad lets your Modules look at your call history and add contacts to your company directory. You paste one API key from Dialpad, and Raileon keeps it encrypted.
What your Modules can do
- List your recent calls: who called, which number, how long it lasted, what state it ended in, and who took it.
- Find a contact by name.
- Add a new contact. It is added as a shared company contact, so everyone in your company can see it.
Reading never needs approval. A new contact is held until you approve it.
Your Modules cannot place calls or send texts through Dialpad, and they do not read call transcripts or recordings.
Before you start
Dialpad API keys are available on the Pro and Enterprise plans, and only a company admin can create one. The key works across your whole company, so keep it private.
Connect Dialpad
Open Apps
In your dashboard, go to Apps in the left sidebar and select Connect on the Dialpad card.
Create an API key
In Dialpad, open Admin Settings, then My Company, then Authentication, then API keys. Choose Add key, name it, set when it expires, and save.
Copy the key
Copy the key right away, because Dialpad shows it only once.
Paste and test
Paste the key into Raileon and select Test connection. Raileon checks it works before saving.
Confirm it is connected
The Dialpad card shows Connected.
If you set the key to expire, Dialpad will stop accepting it on that date. Create a new key and reconnect before then.
Disconnect Dialpad
Open Apps, find the Dialpad card, and select Disconnect. You can also delete the key in Dialpad's admin settings to cut off access right away.
