Connect your MLS (RESO Web API)
Last updated
Connecting your MLS lets your Modules search the listings your brokerage has access to. It works with any MLS that offers the RESO Web API, which is the industry standard for listing data. Your MLS issues the credentials, and Raileon keeps them encrypted.
What your Modules can do
- Search listings by city, state, ZIP code, price range, minimum bedrooms and bathrooms, and status (active by default).
- Read one listing in full, including the public remarks, days on market and the listing office.
This connection is read only. Your Modules cannot add, change or remove anything in the MLS, so nothing here needs approval.
Follow your MLS data licence
Listing data comes from your MLS under the data licence your brokerage agreed to. That licence decides what you may do with the data, such as how listings may be shown to clients and for how long. You are responsible for using what your Modules find in line with it. If you are not sure, ask your MLS.
Before you start
Each MLS issues its own RESO Web API access. Contact your MLS, or the technology provider it names, and ask for RESO Web API credentials for your brokerage. They will give you:
- the Web API address (it starts with https://), and
- either a bearer token, or a client ID, client secret and token address.
Your Modules only ever call the address you give here. Addresses that are not public https addresses are refused.
Connect your MLS
Open Apps
In your dashboard, go to Apps in the left sidebar and select Connect on the MLS card.
Paste the address
Paste the Web API address your MLS gave you.
Paste the credentials
If your MLS gave you a bearer token, paste it. If it gave you a client ID and secret, fill in the token address, client ID and client secret instead, and leave the bearer token empty.
Test
Select Test connection. Raileon asks the MLS for a single listing to check the details work before saving.
Confirm it is connected
The MLS card shows Connected.
Disconnect your MLS
Open Apps, find the MLS card, and select Disconnect. You can also ask your MLS to revoke the credentials to cut off access right away.
